AUTOMOTIVE MOMENTS
While car photography is relatively new to me, the opportunity to shoot 40 cars of a curated collection gave me access to some of the most amazing art I have ever seen. Up close and personal…

INTERIORS, EXTERIORS and all the DETAILS that tied the cars together were all on display in my client’s hi-bay industrial warehouse. No, the collection was not shot in a studio. Cars were driven into a homemade shooting “booth” lit from above by warehouse skylights. No strobes. No white floor. Just black drapery fabric on trade show free-standing display frames. All hail clipping paths, a digital gradient background and Photoshop.

THE ECLECTIC FAMILY
The vehicles in this 40 member fraternity were not curated to be put in museum cases. Most of the classics, resto-rods, hot rods, muscle cars, racers, exotics and supercars were taken to shows, raced and driven in rallies. Other than acquisition, those events detail special moments in the life of each car.

All were waiting their turn inside a 30,000 sf high bay industrial warehouse, to be photographed as a collective. And they all brought their PERSONALITIES with them…

My sudden affair with cars has taken me to the Arizona Concours D’Elegance, to weekend outdoor Rock n Roll Car Shows, to parking garages, to resoration body shops and to hands-on photographic workshop events with Arizona Car Clubs. And yes, motorcycles are next…

This would be a good time to acknowledge the contributions my son Chase made during the recent 40 car job. As a co-shooter and problem solver, without him the personality that signatures this collection would not exist. He will continue to be by my side as a valued partner going forward with his creative input and energy. He’s the COMPLETE PACKAGE.
